Hello
Study again with me... What class are you in now??? Have you taught server configuration yet??? If you're sure you're familiar with the PROXMOX... You already know that, right??? Sooo sure, I already mentioned it in the previous article. But this time I will share with you how to install Proxmox correctly... Come on!!!
Introduction !!!
Proxmox VE (Virtual Environment) is a Linux distro based on Debian which has a special function as virtualization of both appliances and operating systems. Proxmox runs in text mode, although Proxmox is easier to configure via web-based remote access. Currently Proxmox with the latest release is Proxmox VE 2.3
Proxmox supports several types of virtualization platforms such as KVM and OpenVZ. Based on the Debian Stable distro and using a special kernel for virtualization, Proxmox VE is a full power Bare Metal Virtualtation Platform. Bare Metal is a computer system where the virtual machine is installed directly on the computer in the operating system without certain applications being installed first. The term Bare Metal refers to hard disks.
The background to installing Proxmox is because Proxmox supports KVM and OpenVZ-based virtualization platforms. Proxmox is used as virtualization with a virtual machine that is installed directly on the OS without having to install certain tools / software. Besides being easy to use, Proxmox supports various virtual hard disk formats.
Preparation !!!
When installing Proxmox, the following tools and materials are required:
A set of computers with minimum recommendations as follows:
- Pentium 4 processor, and must have 64 bit capability.
- If you want to use a full virtualization model, the CPU must have an Intel VT (Virtualtation Technology) or AMD-V motherboard model.
- Minimum RAM memory 1 GB.
- Minimum hard disk capacity is 20 GB.
- NIC (Network Interface Card)
Step step !!!
- Insert the CD Master ISO into the computer
- Replace your Bios settings with boot priority with the Proxmox ISO master CD
- If you have been waiting for reebot
- Then a display like the one below will appear. Just press enter on Install Proxmox VE
- In the License Agreement... Click I Agree
- Next thing you need to know, Proxmox does not provide a manual partition menu so it (proxmox) automatically adjusts the space division according to hard disk capacity. Immediately click next
- Enter the password that will be used to enter Proxmox, then click next
- Select your time zone, then click next
- Enter Hostname, IP, Netmask, Gateway, and DNS, then click next
- Wait for the installation process
- Finished. Click reboot
- This is the initial display of Proxmox
Report !!!
With Proxmox we can install virtual machines in the Operating System without having to use additional tools/software such as virtualbox. With Proxmox, it is hoped that server administrators can configure servers easily like Windows but only use Proxmox, which in fact is a generation of Linux.
Yeah, that's all I can say for now. I will discuss how to install a virtual machine on Proxmox at the next meeting... If there are any errors, please comment... :)
